This 5-axis wire EDM machine Brother HS-50A was built in November 1999 and has been in operation since 2000. The low operating hours of only 4,835 h are due to the fact that the machine has only ever run in single-shift operation. 90% of its use has been for eroding holes in 12 mm cutting plates. The machine has undergone all scheduled servicing and, apart from regular wear parts, has never required any major repairs. The machine will remain in use until week 51/2025 and can be inspected on site by arrangement. Videos of the machine in operation are available upon request.
