The Watson‑Marlow 504U is a peristaltic (tube) pump designed for dosing, dispensing, or fluid transfer in laboratory, process, and industrial settings. Because of its design, the fluid only contacts the tubing, which helps with chemical compatibility, sterility, and ease of cleaning/maintenance.
It features a fairly durable, washdown‑resistant housing (IP55) in many versions, allowing it to tolerate exposure to splashing or low‑pressure water jets.
A few variants (e.g., “Mk2” or “Du”) bring updates in control, enclosure, and durability

The manual for the 504Du version describes that the pump’s speed control ratio is 220:1, giving a minimum speed of 1 rpm (for the 220 rpm drive) and 0.5 rpm (for 55 rpm version).
The pump is intended to be installed on a horizontal surface with good ventilation and free airflow around it.
