The operating principle is divided into two physically and apparatus-wise separate process phases:
1. The heating mixer phase (heating and homogenizing)
• Mechanical friction: In the heating mixer, a modular mixing tool rotates at a high circumferential speed (approx. 10–40 m/s). The intense flow and vortex formation (mixing vortex) causes the particles of the mixture to rub intensely against each other.
• Heating: This mechanical friction generates the necessary thermal energy directly in the product, quickly and evenly heating the material to the desired target temperature (sometimes exceeding 100 °C).
• Recipe component addition: At the same time, all recipe components, such as additives, dyes, or liquids, are perfectly homogeneously distributed. An integrated aspiration system also ensures the dehumidification of the mixture.
2. The transfer
• Once the target temperature defined in the process program is reached, a contoured, dead-space-free outlet opens on the heating mixer.
• The hot, homogeneous mixture is transferred with minimal residue and quickly to the cooling mixer, which is located directly below or next to it. The heating mixer is then immediately available for the next batch.
3. The cooling mixer phase (gentle cooling)
• Heat exchange: In the cooling mixer (available in vertical or horizontal design), the hot material is passed over cooled surfaces.

• Water cooling: A targeted cooling water circuit in the double jacket (bottom and side walls) efficiently removes thermal energy from the dry blend.
• Agglomeration prevention: A slow, material-friendly stirring mechanism keeps the mixture in motion until the final storage temperature is reached. This prevents caking (compaction) due to residual heat before the material is transferred to silos or further processing.

The system for sale was used in the R&D center of UBQ for development purposes. This explains the very good condition for the low number of production hours.

Currently, the system is located outside of Europe – we need to determine whether direct transport is feasible or whether import to Europe by UBQ is more sensible (which would allow for a sale within Europe with a reverse-charge mechanism).
