KGM – Ideas with Profile

The KGM Group was founded in 1973 in Oettingen, Bavaria, by Mr. Karl G. Miller, whose initials also inspired the company name. Initially established as a pure trading company, KGM quickly evolved into a medium-sized manufacturing enterprise. Ongoing expansion and diversification of the product range, together with the acquisition of state-of-the-art machinery, have driven the company’s continuous development.

In 1992, a wrapping facility was acquired in Gehren, Thuringia—today operating as KGM Furnierprofile GmbH. At this site, KGM manufactures exclusively veneer- and foil-wrapped products based on wood-based materials, primarily serving our customers in the European door industry.

Today, the Oettingen facility primarily produces solid wood products and mouldings for our customers in specialist trade, as well as for the wood, furniture, and flooring industries.

Since 2005, Thomas Miller, representing the second generation of the family, has managed the company as CEO.

The total number of employees across all sites is currently around 175. With the establishment of a third production facility in Geraberg, Thuringia, in 2013, the company has achieved further significant growth.
