Christian Carla

The history of McSchrott dates back to 2001, when founder Christian Carla started out as a sole proprietor, specializing in flame-cutting operations and scrap demolition. Five years later, he opened his first scrapyard, which he sold again in 2011. At the same time, he opened several new scrapyards—operating under the McSchrott name for the first time—continuing as a sole proprietor.

In 2018, he acquired his first scrap shear, though its operation presented some challenges. Through his connection with Christian Stammberger, a custom scrap shear was designed and commissioned in accordance with DIN standards.

This shear has since performed its duties reliably. One year later, a mobile scrap shear—designed to be loaded onto a truck—was developed in-house and ordered. These scrap shears are continuously improved and adapted to meet new standards and regulations.

In 2020, the company was restructured as McSchrott Rathenow GmbH. After an extensive four-year testing phase, McSchrott has now decided to bring its in-house developed scrap shears to market, enabling other companies in the industry to benefit from their advantages.
